The iPhone celebrates its seventh birthday

"This is a day I've been looking forward to for two and a half years. Every once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything. One is very fortunate if you get to work on just one of these in your career. Apple has been very fortunate that it's been able to introduce a few of these into the world."

These words come from late Apple CEO Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007. He was in the middle of that year's Macworld keynote address and had already promised to "make some history" that day and the crowd was waiting patiently to be blown away.

He then said it was time to introduce three new products — a widescreen iPod, a mobile phone and an internet communication device. They would all be in shell and it is call iPhone.

Today is the seventh anniversary of the public unveiling of Apple's revolutionary smartphone. It garnered mass applause that day from those in attendance and can now be seen as the kick start of the mobile device trends that have taken hold in the corporate world. Now, an iPad deployment is just as common as cubicles and someone being foolish at the office holiday party.

Implementing these strategies successfully, however, is easier said than done. Thankfully, there are IT consulting firms that specialize in Mac integration and can not only ensure a company's infrastructure is ready to handle mobile devices, but train employees and handle any repairs that could be needed.
