Ava Waterhouse, Marketing Manager
ava@mcservices.com

One of my first marketing jobs was at a large architecture firm in Los Angeles, CA where my initial primary responsibility was to help create a database that catalogued roughly 9,000 design projects in extreme detail. It was through this project that I caught a glimpse of the positive impact well-organized data can have on a business.

Although my college majors were in Advertising and Public Relations (Marquette University ’07), I have since found my interest to lie heavily in user experience - whether it relates to how satisfied a customer is with our Mac repair service, or how the job of a corporate VP could be made easier with a custom database solution. I love trying on other people’s perspectives to discover ways in which technology and systems can augment their work, and life, experience.

My main responsibility at MC Services is planning and designing all of our marketing communications. I am also involved in our office operations, Apple and FileMaker training coordination, and my newest obsession: FileMaker database interface design/user experience. In addition, around noon on weekdays I serve as the primary feeder of our office’s black Labrador, Mike.

When I am not reading books on database interfaces and usability testing, you can typically find me listening to Led Zeppelin while reading about behavioral psychology, vintage fashion, or interior design. I also love sailing, playing classical violin, and drooling over 1960s European sports cars.

Chad Lawson, Systems Engineer
chad@mcservices.com

Working for Apple, I was a Build Engineer on the (Mac) OS X team during the 10.0, 10.1 and 10.2 days. Shortly after 10.2 launched, the OS 9 team was disbanded and many of them had UNIX skills and more seniority and I was let go. From there, I spent some time as a member of the Apple Consultants Network working for others or myself. In 2003, I met the woman who would become my wife and moved to Milwaukee in 2005. Later on, I started at the local Apple Store and worked as a Genius for two years before finding MC Services.

Working at MC Services has become the cumulation of my career. I teach the Apple IT classes; work on-site with customers to solve problems and develop solutions; develop and present custom training classes; and even fix the occasional sick Mac.

Outside the office, my hobbies include Geocaching, Arduinos, and I have been an active Toastmasters member for two years.

Matt Nehring, Mac Service Administrator
mnehring@mcservices.com

After High school I went to the University of Wisconsin: Milwaukee to study Computer Science, I later switched to Psychology. I spent a couple extra years so that I could study Japanese, however I finally got fed up with being and college and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

After college I returned to my computer roots and started working at apple as a part time Mac Specialist. A few months later I was promoted to full time as a Genius Admin. As a Genius Admin I learned many valuable lessons about managing a service department and about fixing issues with Apple computers. After nearly 4 years at Apple I left to join the team at MC Services.

At MC Services I manage the Service Department. Basically this means that I act as lead Technician and am the primary person for people to talk to when their Mac is sick. In addition to this I help out from time to time with Filemaker Development.

Outside of work I can often be found doing something related to Kung Fu. If not Kung Fu then I love doing almost any outdoor activity as well as reading and gaming. Despite all this my top priority outside of work is spending time with my wonderful wife.
