For a system that is typically low on the priority list for Apple fans, the Mac Pro has gained a lot of ink this week. From the official launch yesterday to speculation on companion products, the new powerhouse computing machine has been a hot topic of conversation among techies. Now there is something else to add to the discussion – high demand.

According to an article from Forbes, in just one day of availability, the Mac Pro has proven to be very popular. For anyone ordering through the Apple website, delivery was not guaranteed until December 30 at launch time. As more orders have been placed, that date has been pushed back and as of this writing, availability has been pushed back to February.

"Demand for the all new Mac Pro is great and it will take time before supply catches up with demand," an Apple spokesman said in a statement.

The reason for the delay is two fold. First is the possibility of low production volume which is likely considering the computer is being manufactured in a new factory in Austin, Texas. When that is paired with higher than expected sales numbers, the production line is going to slowdown as the kinks are worked out. On top of that, these kinds of supply constraints are not uncommon following a launch.

While this delay may make it slower for organizations to get their hands on the new systems, now is still the perfect time to partner with an IT consulting firm that specializes in Mac integration to successfully add them.
