Is September 19 the launch date for the new iPhone?

The middle of Summer is ripe for Apple rumors. Following the Worldwide Developers Conference, the blogosphere starts ramping up for the fall hardware launch cycle that historically includes many of the product lines, including the iPhone and iPad.

According to an article from Reuters, the company is in the beginning stages of production for the latest incarnation of its smartphone. All signs are pointing to a larger model hitting the shelves in September which include 4.7 and 5.5-inch screen sizes.

The latest round of speculation comes from a report that Hon Hai Precision Industry will be recruiting over 100,000 people in mainland China to help create the latest iPhone. This will be the largest single hiring spree in the year. Taiwanese manufacturer Pegatron Corp is also expected to increase hiring by 30 percent.

Another article from Apple Insider got more specific, saying that Apple has targeted September 19 for the launch. This date comes from a few different places. In the last few years, the new iPhone has launched on a Friday, which September 19 is. On top of that, several Chinese news sources are reporting that is the target date manufacturers have been looking for.

As always, these should be taken with a grain of salt, but they are interesting to think about. It is almost a guarantee that the company will have new hardware in a few months, the question is what it will be. Regardless, companies should partner with an Apple support service to make sure they are able to incorporate the latest devices.
